B.A.D (Bikers Against Diabetes) Ride

The wife and I went on a ride sponsored by the Eagles Club and organized by a work buddy of mine, Missy. It was a cool, all most cold that day when we started out, then it warmed up when at the tail end of the ride, which was too bad. But we had a good day anyway--cold/cool or not.

We went around to some pretty countryside, cruised through some cool little towns in Iowa, and meet a lot of nice people. The ride was also a poker ride, so although our hand was close to the worst in the group--it was a lot of fun. The best poker hand paid money at the end of the ride-- the best hand got $300 dollars not to bad just for going out and having some fun--my luck not sooo good this time--maybe next time.

Overall, it was just a good time to be with other bikers, and we made some new friends. Some of the guys in the pictures are guys that I work with--it was a rare and fun get-together of the bike riders in our work group--so it was a good time.

Funny highlight of the day--that still makes me laugh to think about it--we were all gathered to get our instructions for the next leg--and do the raffle drawing for the stop--when we noticed a couple pretty tough dudes getting cozy--then we saw what you see in the photo below--the little guy grabbed the big guy's butt! Yup--it was hilarious. So...it was hilarious to see two guys in the play grab as-- I don't know them--but they seem to like each other, LOL. It was sooo fun! In addition--and last but not least--they exceeded their fundraising goal that day. AND we won several raffle prizes. So..if you get a chance to do a B.A.D ride--I'd recommend it--it's for a good cause--and a lot of fun. How can you lose? Everyone wins.

Chrome Wheels

This is one of the best things that I could have done to my bike by adding the chrome wheels, it is the same wheels that came with the bike originally Zylstra Harley just had them sent in to have them chromed and then I went back to have them put on it adds a lot to the bike. But not spending a lot of money to get the look you want.

First Fill Up

Well it has been a long time sense I last talked about my bike, but on my first fill up, just $7.40--I only wish I could do that when I pull my truck up to the pump and fill it up. Yup...I'm a happy man...:)

The Harley Ride

To all the Harley owners out there as you can see in my blog that I have just bought the Harley of my dreams it is the most beautiful bike I have ever owned and will be the last bike that I will own. The new design that Harley put into this bike has been in my opinion the best ever in the ride, storage, Handling, all the lighting that is on the back of the bike, the over all looks of course, the color of my bike is two tone Root Beer with a lot of metal flake in the paint, it will just take your breath away, my lovely wife picked out the color of course because I was not sure if I would like it, she has the eye for that kind of stuff. I had put Rineharts slip on with a Screaming Eagle air filter with a re flash on the engine, it has a lot of power to get with it if you want, but for the days that you just want to enjoy your surroundings you can have that to. I'm really looking forward to this summer when the nights are cool, to take that late night cruse where ever the road takes me, just enjoy life and feeling free and forgetting your problems from work or just what ever the world throws at you. This will be all for now we have a few add ons that will soon be coming to make the bike pop out even more, keep checking my blog will keep you posted untill then ride safe. Dan

A few still video captures

Click on the pictures to see them larger. And scroll down to see the video and hear the rumble. :) And a little Bruce too!

Got it!

3.12.09: My Harley arrived on Thursday about 4 o'clock. It's so pretty it's hard to believe. My wife did a good job picking out the color for us. Wow! I was pretty much in shock at first--it's like Bruce says in the song on the video "I'm workin' on a Dream". Then I just got "giddy", which you'll hear in the silly way I was talking about it all!

Lisa and I took a 60 mile ride today--dropped by a buddies house to show him the bike, drove out to another friends house and unfortunately missed them by just 10 minutes, stopped at the Drugtown to get some milk, eggs, bacon and banana's for breakfast in the morning (yup it all fit in the back compartment--cool huh! My Harley is a milk run vehicle). And then headed home for dinner, grilled some burgers had a salad...and uploaded this video for you.

My lovely, creative, wife, Lisa put it together--it's pretty neat.

ENJOY the viewing...

PS--you might want to put on sunglasses to protect your eyes from the glare of the metalic flake in the paint--it sure does sparkle!

Oh yeah--click on the "x comments" text link below the video-- to leave a comment for me. It will be emailed to me. :)
